Rising artist Peter Manos has just dropped his debut EP, Do You Turn Red?, via Capitol Records. From that record, we’re honing in on the minimalist RnB serenade ‘Zach’s Ballad’, which showcasing Manos’ development as a solid songwriter over the past year. As he shared on Twitter, "I am spending all of my time trying to be a better songwriter. It’s all I care about. It’s all that matters. Production is nice. But it’s all about the song." We love the way that Manos’ private nature both breaks character and solidifies in this swaying guitar song. He sings, “I don’t really want to talk about what’s on my mind…”, although he then continues to share all those things he’s been wandering about as he reflects on the past. The weighing emotion is accentuated by the heavy reverb and Manos’ falsetto on the chorus, which becomes a pleading inquiry into the universe; one that will not yield an answer.
